Description:

The fibular, or peroneal, artery is a branch of the posterior tibial artery in the proximal half of the posterior crus. After arising from the posterior tibial artery it courses laterally toward the fibula as it descends in the leg. It supplies blood to muscles on the lateral and posterior aspects of the crus.
