Description:

The artery arises as a bifurcation of the common hepatic artery into the proper hepatic and gastroduodenal arteries. The proper hepatic is the continuation of the hepatic blood supply to the liver. It terminates just before reaching the liver by branching into right and left hepatic arteries that enter the respective lobes of the liver.
