Description:

The left gastric artery is one of the three branches of the celiac artery from the initial part of the abdominal aorta. The left gastric bends to the left and posterior as it arises from the celiac artery and then arches along the lesser curvature of the stomach. Near the esophagus it sends ascending esophageal arteries into the thorax along the lower esophagus. On the lesser curvature of the stomach it forms collateral circuits with the right gastric artery.
