Description:

The musculophrenic artery is one of the terminal branches of the internal thoracic artery. It arches laterally from near the sternum along the junction of the diaphragm and anterior costal cartilage margin of the thorax. It supplies the diaphragm and sends anterior intercostal branches between the lower ribs.
