Histology - Bladder

Description:

Bladder wall
This is a section through the entire wall of the urinary bladder that shows the tunica mucosa, tunica muscularis, and tunica adventitia. Note the transitional epithelium of the mucosal lining at the top of the image. As you progress from the top of the image towards the bottom of the image you pass from the mucosa, through the thick layers of the tunica muscularis, and finally to the connective tissue outer layer, the tunica adventitia. This is a large section, so even at a magnification of 100x you can pan across the section for significant distances.
