Description:

This is a section through thin skin with numerous hair follicles. Notice the thin epidermal layer on the surface of the skin, which is continuous with the lining of the hair follicles. The follicles project into the dermal layer where they are surrounded by thick bundles of collagen fibers. Notice the hairs forming within the follicles.
