Respiratory system dissection layer 1

Description:

This is the first dissection stage of the respiratory system and it clearly demonstrates some of the major organs of this system. Beginning in the anterior neck, the larynx is clearly evident. Descending from the larynx into the mediastinum of the thorax is the trachea. The trachea branches into the right and left main (principal) bronchi. Each main bronchus then enters a lung. Each of the lungs is clearly evident in their pleural sac in the lateral aspects of the thoracic cavity. With the mouse pointer select an organ of the respiratory system and then click on the related images button to see additional images of the selected organ.

Clicking related images will also let you access a view of a rotating larynx.
