Histology - Transitional epithelium


Transitional epithelium is characteristic of the urinary mucosa. It is present from the lining of the calyces in the kidney to the urethra, thus forming the mucosal lining of all the post-renal urinary tubes and organs. This is a section from the urinary bladder in its relaxed state.
