Description:

This rounded, knob-like projection of the mandibular ramus forms the articular surface between the mandible and the temporal bone. It is situated on the posterosuperior angle of the ramus. It has two parts - a constricted neck arising from the ramus, and a rounded articular head situated above the neck.
