Description:

This slight ridge of bone is situated on the internal surface of the mandibular body. It extends posteriorly and slightly superiorly from the mental spine to the mandibular ramus. It serves as the attachment site of the sheet-like mylohyoid muscle. Posteriorly, this line provides attachment for part of the superior pharyngeal constrictor and pterygomandibular raphe.
