Description:
The strong frontal process of the zygomatic bone is a vertical buttress that projects superiorly to form a deep serrated articulation with the lateral base of the supra-orbital margin of the frontal bone. It contributes to the lateral wall of the orbit. Its posterior margin articulates with the greater wing of the sphenoid bone. Near the superior margin of its orbital surface, just within the orbital rim, is a small tubercle providing attachment for the lateral palpebral ligament, suspensory ligament, and part of the aponeurosis for the levator palpebrae superioris.
