Description:

The visceral peritoneum is the part of the serous peritoneal coelom that covers the abdominal viscera. This mesothelial membrane covers the outside of the organs of the abdominal cavity - the stomach, small intestine, large intestine, spleen, and liver. It is continuous via the mesenteries with the parietal peritoneum.
