Description:

Hyaline cartilage is the most widely distributed and most abundant type of cartilage in the body. It has a bluish-white ground substance with fine collagen fibers surrounding numerous chrondrocytes. It forms most of the embryonic skeleton and in the adult it forms the articular cartilage covering articulating bone surfaces within synovial joints, the anterior ends of the ribs, the skeleton of the nose, and many of the cartilages of the larynx, trachea, and bronchial tree.
