Description:

The central tendon of the diaphragm is a thin, strong collagenous aponeurosis situated in the dome of the diaphragm where the peripheral muscle fibers converge toward the center. It sits below the pericardium, which is strongly attached to it. It is has a large opening toward the right side for the passage of the inferior vena cava.
