Description:

This series of ligaments is basically an anterior thickening of the fibrous capsule of the shoulder joint. The superior part arises from the upper part of the glenohumeral labrum and crosses to the superior aspect of the humeral neck. The middle part attaches on the anterior margin of the glenoid cavity and crosses the joint to attach to the lesser tubercle where it blends with the subscapular tendon. The inferior part from the glenoid labrum around the inferior circumference of the cavity and crosses the joint to attach to the inferior and medial part of the humeral neck.

Stabilizes the shoulder joint. Limits lateral rotation and extension of the joint.
