Description:

This line on the external surface of the iliac ala is the shortest of the three gluteal lines. It begins near the posterior limit of the iliac crest and courses inferiorly to the posterior inferior iliac spine. Anterior to this line is the posterior limit of the gluteus medius muscle, while posterior to this is the roughened surface for the iliac attachment of the gluteus maximus muscle.
