Description:

This is a large knob-like projection at the proximal end of the tibia. The proximal surface of this lateral projection is the articular surface with the lateral femoral condyle and forms a smaller surface than the articular surface on the medial condyle. Its rough peripheral surfaces are attachment sites for the capsular ligament and iliotibial tract.
