Description:

This is the large knob-like projection at the proximal end of the tibia. The proximal surface of this medial projection is the articular surface with the medial femoral condyle and forms a larger surface than the articular surface on the lateral condyle. Its rough peripheral surfaces are attachment sites for the semimembranosus muscle, capsular ligament, and tibial collateral ligament.
