Lateral condyle of femur

View Related Images

Description:

The femoral condyles are the knuckle-like processes at the distal end of the femur. The lateral condyle forms the knob-like distolateral end of the femur. Its lateral projection is flat, less prominent than its medial counterpart, and yet still easily palpable. Articular cartilage covers most of its posterior and distal surfaces. The anterior articular surface extends farther proximally than that of the medial condyle.
