Description:

This is a ridge of bone extending from the distal end of the linea aspera to the lateral condyle. It is most pronounced in its proximal part where the short head of the biceps femoris muscle and the lateral intermuscular septum attach to it. Near the lateral condyle it becomes slightly roughened for the attachment of the plantaris muscle.
