Description:
This groove, as its name suggests, runs between the greater and lesser tubercles at the proximal end of the humerus. Coursing through the groove is the tendon of the long head of the biceps brachii muscle with an accompanying tendon sheath. The latissiumus dorsi muscle attaches to the distal extension of the groove and the pectoralis major and teres major attach to the distal extensions of its lateral and medial borders, respectively.
