Description:

The minor calyces are the cup-like passageways that receive the papillary ducts. They range from 8 to 18 in number in each kidney. The papillary ducts pass through the papilla of the renal pyramid and project into the minor calyx. These ducts drain urine formed in the nephrons of the kidney to the minor calyx.
